FILM CHAT: WONDER WOMAN & SONIC THE HEDGEHOG FILM

Wonder Woman Trailer and Sonic The Hedgehog Film

Film Chat this week, we talk about, the new Wonder Woman trailer and the Sonic The Hedgehog movie. With my quirky side notes and thoughts added in for good measure. Which includes talking about my childhood crush on Alvin, from Alvin and the Chipmunks.

What I've seen in the new Wonder Woman trailer so far. I like what it can bring to the DC cinematic universe. I wasn't a fan of Batman v Superman (I had big hopes). Though the trailer was amazing - Suicide Squad didn't live up to it's potential. That's where I hope Wonder Woman fills my DC void. Patty Jenkins, is the director (yay girl power) and Gal Gadot looks like she's giving her all. So, please DC let this be the start of a great cinematic universe.

The Sonic the Hedgehog movie has been in development since 2014. Recently production got back up and rolling with the addition of Tim Miller. Who was going to Direct the sequel to Deadpool. Well, after creative differences with Ryan Reynolds, he's jumped ship. He's now going to Executive Produce Sonic. Which follows the character from the video game series. This film will be a mixture live action CGI hybrid. Which I can only hope means more "Jungle Book" and less "Smurfs." I loved this character growing up. Wouldn't mind seeing the film take on Sonic, Knuckles and Tails.

FILM CHAT: TOMB RAIDER REBOOT

Tomb Raider Reboot

Film Chat this week, we talk about, The TOMB RAIDER REBOOT. With my quirky side notes and thoughts added in for good measure. This week I do many horrible British accents. See if you can count them all!

Tomb Raider was a video game that came out in 1996. It starred Lara Croft as the kick as archeologist adventurer. In 2001 a film starring Angelina Jolie came out. It did great and a sequel hit the scene in 2003. After these two films, Angelina Jolie was over playing Lara Croft.

Fast forward to 2016 a Tomb Raider reboot is in the works. It's based on the rebooted 2013 video game. In this video game Lara Croft is embarking on her first adventure as a fresh faced 21 year old. Then shit hits the fan and she has to embrace her inner bad bitch. After months of auditions and rumored casting choices. Alicia Vikander has secured the role of Lara Croft.

FILM CHAT: THE FLASH | CAPTAIN MARVEL

Film News The Flash and Captain Marvel

Film Chat this week, we talk about, The Flash and Captain Marvel. With my quirky side notes and thoughts added in for good measure. This week I bring up sex and cookies

The Flash starring Ezra Miller will hit theaters in 2018. The new director taking over for this film is Rick Fumiyama. The director behind last year's Sundance hit "DOPE." He also wrote and directed classics, "Brown Sugar" and "The Wood." Excited to see what he brings to the table since this will be his first big budget studio film.

Captain Marvel will hit theaters in 2019. It will be the first Marvel film starring a female superhero. Though the first spot should go to Black Widow. Studios are in early negotiations with Brie Larson to portray the superhero. The Oscar winner is their first choice and Chris Evans has even praised the possibility.

FILM CHAT: THE MAGNIFICENT SEVEN, BAYWATCH AND JASON BOURNE

The Magnificent Seven, Baywatch and Jason Bourne

Film Chat this week, we talk about, The Magnificent Seven, Baywatch and Jason Bourne. With my quirky side notes and thoughts added in for good measure.

The Magnificent Seven is the reimagining of the 1960s version starring Steve McQueen. This version has a star studded cast being lead by Denzel Washington, Chris Pratt and Ethan Hawke. Directed by Antoine Fuqua this diverse remake is a modern take on Westerns. It will also be the first time we've seen Denzel Washington on a horse.

The film version of the 90s show Baywatch is currently in production. Starring Dwayne Johnson (also producer) and Zac Efron. Swaying away from the serious tone of the original, this film adaptation will take a comedic route. Though Pamela Anderson will be appearing in a cameoThe role of CJ Parker will be newcomer Kelly Rohrbach.

Jason Bourne is returning with Matt Damon and Director Paul Greengrass. It's been 9 years since Matt Damon played this role. Boy, did we miss him. The trailer looks awesome. Excited to see the return of this character. Since, I wasn't a fan of The Bourne Legacy starring Jeremy Renner. Which is still getting a sequelAFTER Jason Bourne.

FILM CHAT: DEADPOOL 2, THE JUNGLE BOOK, GHOST IN THE SHELL

Deadpool 2, The Jungle Book, Ghost in the Shell

Film Chat this week, we talk about, Deadpool 2, The Jungle Book and Ghost in the Shell. With my quirky side notes and thoughts added in for good measure.

With the success of Deadpool surpassing $700 million it was only a matter of time before a sequel. Ryan Reynolds will be returning as well ass the creative team behind the original. Also, rumor has it they're trying to get Spider-man to join forces with Deadpool. But don't get your hopes up!

Disney's The Jungle Book film, surprised everyone in their box office results. A sequel is in the talks to bring back the director Jon Favreau and tell more stories of Mowgli. Disney's success is not looking good for Warner Brothers. Who have their own competing The Jungle Book coming out in 2018.

A lot of controversy around the casting of Scarlett Johansson for Ghost in the Shell. This has rubbed people wrong because Ghost in the Shell is a popular Anime series. Thus, more Asian actresses should have been on the short list for the film adaptation's lead role. The main point is, there is a lack of diversity in Hollywood. The solution starts early on in building more star power in Asian actors and actresses.
